Current Work 08-24-07
Those who have read my blog posts, regarding my mid-life odyssey of rediscovery, know that I graduated from school in May 2007 and secured a position as a Flash artist at
| Animax Entertainment. As a result my usual flood of blog posts has been choked off to an anemic trickle. I figured I’d post a couple screen shots of some of what I’ve been working on these last 10 weeks or so. All artwork is protected by copyright of the various clients and cannot be reproduced.
I was hired as a Flash illustrator but because of a fortunate (for me) misunderstanding I was assigned a couple simple animations for net games. The producer on this was scratching his head as I took a bit longer than he expected and he finally asked “Didn’t you take the animation test?” My answer was “No, I was hired as an illustrator!” The end result was that I had a chance to practice my animation skills and I enjoyed it. This first one was for a Keep the Oceans Clean game. In addition to the animation cycle I drew a bunch of trash props.
Then I had some fun doing about a half dozen of the animations for a game at the Dippin’ Dots site. Awesome especially since there was no mouth to lip-sync.
Some of the other work I’ve done includes some background design, lots of clothing items for a girl’s dress up game, comps of new pages, creating vector versions of raster backgrounds and various other production assignments as needed. Here are a few items from the popular TyGirlz site …
